A gifted aesthete, Gayathri’s early influences were drawn from growing up in a culturally enriched environment and spending time with nature. While education, life and career drew her into the world of business, Gayathri’s aesthetic sensibilities found expression in her own beautiful personal spaces. Endowed with the gift of creativity and the opportunity to work with wood, textiles and handicrafts. Gayathri’s first product line “Maram” has incorporated heritage 100 year old Burma Teak from the old family home, with a melange of heritage textiles (Kanjeevaram & Benares silks), colonial flavour (rattan) and handicraft from across India, to create a range of over 150 unique collectibles that will embellish your home.
Maram
Maram by Udhbava is a collection of trays, coasters, photo frames, bookends cutlery holders & wall panels made with Burmese teak wood that is almost 100 years old and padauk wood that is 70 years old. Some of the artefacts are inlaid with old silk sarees or rattan and embellished with cast iron handles, camel bone handles, Dogra art, brass artefacts and marapachis ( wood dolls).
